Coast to Coast Leather and Vinyl is the culmination of a transformative journey that began in 1992 on the vibrant streets of Lower Eastside Manhattan, New York. Inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit and a vision for excellence, founders Jack and Mike embarked on a mission to redefine automotive upholstery.

Their journey commenced with the birth of Tri-State Leather, a venture that blossomed from an opportunity presented by family uncle, who owned a cab company. With a promise of free rent in exchange for refurbishing cab seats, Jack and Mike dove headfirst into the world of reupholstery. Donning their best suits, they ventured into local car dealerships, laying the groundwork for what would become a thriving business.

Tri-State Leather's early success was marked by the reupholstering of new car seats using premade kits sourced from California. By 1993, the demand soared, necessitating a move to a larger facility in the historic "Singer" building in Elizabeth, NJ, where innovative ideas took shape amidst the echoes of sewing machine history.

However, a pivotal moment arrived in 1994 when their kit supplier withdrew support due to a customer complaint. Undeterred, Jack and Mike pivoted, crafting their own kits through meticulous pattern reengineering and sourcing materials like leather from a NYC supplier, Seaton, known for OEM leathers.

The turning point came in 1998 when "Restyling" magazine spotlighted their work, catapulting them into national prominence. Harnessing this momentum, they expanded into "East Coast Leather," a network of four locations catering to upholsterers nationwide.

By 2008, Coast to Coast Leather and Vinyl had become an industry snowball, renowned for delivering quality products at competitive prices. Today, with over 4,000 colors and matching vinyl’s from 1990 to the present, the company remains committed to customer satisfaction and excellence.
